Frequently Asked Questions
How does Cropshare work?
Each week, every Friday, bags are delivered to pick-up points in and around the South Pennines. We use pick-up points to reduce food miles and pollution. It is also a good way of meeting other people involved with Cropshare.
We currently have pick-up points around Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Barrowford, Todmorden and Hebden Bridge.
A full list is given on the Collection Points page.
We are always looking for new pick-up points, to reach more people with our fabulous produce! If there are 5 or more of you who would like to get bags, get in touch about setting up your own pick up point.
What is in the bags?
The bags contain a carefully selected variety of vegetables. They always include staple foods, such as potatoes, onions and carrots, as well as a selection of seasonal delights. You also receive an email of the weekly newsletter with recipe suggestions for the vegetables in your bags.
We buy the bulk of our produce from local growers (see "Where does the veg come from?"). During the 'hungry gap' months of March – June we source from further afield.
We always pay our growers a fair price for their produce and, as a social enterprise, we re-invest any profit to support more local food growing projects.
For more information about the contents of the bags, visit our Veg Bags page.
Where does the veg come from?
We source as locally as possible in order to keep food miles low and support local organic farmers and growers All suppliers meet our strict criteria for healthy produce and environmental protection (especially the health of the soil itself).
Although our preference is always for local produce, we make every effort to source within the UK. We will occasionally buy European produce. We never buy air freighted produce or produce grown in heated greenhouses. The newsletter will tell you where the produce has come from each week.
You may read more about our current suppliers here.

What if I want to cancel my bag?
You can log in to your account and cancel your order at any time up to 10 days in advance of your next delivery date. To do this, click on 'my account' at the top right hand corner of the site, then click the 'orders' tab, then select your order number to view it's details. At the bottom of this screen you will see the option to cancel the Go Cardless payment for your order.
What if I'm going on holiday or can't collect my bag?
You can always send a relative or friend along to collect your bag for you. Or you can use the "holiday request" feature on our website here. Just log in to your account and let us know when you'll be away. The cut off date to add a holiday is Tuesday at 12pm on the week before the delivery date. As long as you give 10 days notice prior to the delivery day, a bag won't be made up or delivered for you on weeks while you're away. You won't be charged for the weeks you are away. If you miss this cut off time you can email us to donate your bag to the local food bank.
